The Battle of Hué took place from January 30 to March 3, 1968, as part of the Tet offensive launched by the North Vietnamese Army and the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam (better known as the Viet Cong) in early 1968. This confrontation was one of the longest and bloodiest of the Vietnam War, both in urban areas (in various parts of the city of Hué) and in more peripheral rural areas.

SGS Overlord is a complete stand-alone game that covers the WW2 operations in Normandy, from June 6th, 1944 till the end of August, when the breakout and the battle should largely be over. The game covers the whole operation in Normandy, from D-Day onwards, using a system of 3-days turns.As the German, you must hold the front for as long as you can, as every week you gain may increase the chances of survival of the Reich. As the Allies commander, you must make best use of the American, Canadian, British and French forces to first gain a solid foothold and then breakout from Normandy, towards Paris and the enemy’s heartland, in order to may be win the war by Xmas?The ScenariosThe goal of the game is to recreate the different phases of the battle in Normandy, either in a complete grand campaign covering the whole actual duration, or in shorter scenarios of different duration set at various starting points, such as: Grand Campaign: The entire campaign, starting with the very first operations on June 6th, till the last days of August. This campaign scenario lasts 30 turns of 3 days (June 6th till September 3rd, 1944). [30 turns] Bocage: a shorter post-landing campaign, presenting the difficult fight in the Normandy bocage, from June 30th, till the last days of August. This short campaign scenario lasts 22 turns of 3 days (June 30th till September 3rd, 1944). [22 turns] Race for Cherbourg: Getting hold a deep-water fully-equiped port was essential for the pursuit of the campaign, and there was only one possible target: Cherbourg. Can the Allies reach it in time, or will the German defend it for long enough to create a logistical nightmare for the enemy?. This scenario lasts 4 weeks (6th to 26th June 1944). [7 turns] Operation Cobra: The scenario covers the famous operation that finally led the American forces under Patton and Bradley breakout from Normandy, after trashing the German front at Avranches. This scenario lasts 7 weeks (2nd July to 18th August 1944). [15 turns] Depending on the game success and players' demands, we shall later add scenarios about the Battle of Caen or the Mortain/Falaise campaign.ScaleThe game scale is at the brigade or divisional level for land units of both sides, with smaller units (e.g. garrisons, local defenses…) being also present. Air units and naval support, only on the Allied side, is treated in groups.Other items such as fortifications and supply units [wagons and depots] are also present in good numbers.BalanceNo side is specifically advantaged. Fight the ‘Stalingrad on the Yangze’, as was sometimes called the Battle for Shanghai in 1937. Play as the Chinese willing to reclaim the whole city or as the Imperial Japanese forces in their counter-attack. SGS Battle for Shanghai covers the period from August 13, 1937, to November 26, 1937, till the final Japanese capture of the city and the heavy destruction brought to the city. At the end of November, when the game ends, the Chinese have lost ground and are even now threatened at their capital of Nanking. But could manage to have them seize the initial enemy positions in Shanghai and hold them before the Japanese reinforcements and counter-offensive (from late August) strikes at you, thus complicating Tokyo’s plans and achieving your own, to draw worldwide attention to the conflict? Or, as the Japanese commander, can you hold your ground in the city and put the assaulting Chinese in an even more precarious situation than the historical one when your counter-offensive comes? Each quarter of city and nearby towns and suburbs will become the stake of a thousand battles. The game will contain a grand campaign scenario covering the battle from August until November, as well as other (intermediate or shorter - see below) scenarios based on different starting days or limited to specific areas (Shanghai city, the Yangze river banks, etc…) of the battle.We plan to also provide the players with interesting options to explore potential what-if situations.The player will also find in the game historical events. Those can be strictly historical or random depending on their nature, and/or depending on the game setting (historical scenario or what if). A more efficient Chinese artillery? A better preparation for the defenders? A stronger implication of the navies on both sides? Or, on the contrary, a scenario where all external events occur at exactly the same time as in History. Most events generate even more immersion, sticking to a historical reality. All are carefully designed, with extensive historical research, to go beyond the game, to bring its playful dimension closer to what could be a highly interactive history book. Operation Iron Fist: The offensive operation launched by the Chinese army in mid-August 1937, aimed at destroying the Japanese troops entrenched near Shanghai. This scenario will be unlocked on the day the game is released (August 13th). Combat around Lo-tien: The combat between the Chinese and Japanese armies around the most crucial strategic point around Shanghai: Luodian, from mid to end of September. This scenario will be unlocked in the game's first major update (tentatively scheduled for September 15th). Nan-hsang & Chen-ju Counterattack Operation: In mid-October, the 21st Army Group of the National Revolutionary Army arrived in Shanghai. The Chinese planned to use this newly arrived force to launch a counterattack against the Japanese. This scenario will be unlocked in the game's second major update (tentatively scheduled for October 15th). Shanghai Grand Campaign: the complete campaign game, covering the entire battle from its beginning on August 13th, 1937, till the end of November. This scenario will be unlocked on the day the game is released (August 13th).

ANOMALIES Inspect each arriving train to identify any anomalies by observing the specific order of items inside.
